TRANSPORTATION DISPATCHER JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Logistics Coordinator/ Transportation Dispatcher, you will report directly to the Manager and are responsible for servicing a dedicated customer and scheduling of company drivers. You will oversee the complete order handling process to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and efficiency. You are expected to focus on operational excellence.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

• To promptly and courteously answer all telephone calls, emails and obtain accurate information pertaining to the efficient handling of customer needs or customer business.
• To maintain data in an orderly and accurate fashion with scheduled updates regarding equipment movement (Trucks and trailers) and freight pick up or deliveries.
• To maintain a complete and accurate log of all inbound freight shipments.
• To update equipment movements (arrivals and departures of trucks, trailers and trips) and status.
• To monitor scheduled arrival and departures for service failures and communicate to all parties involved.
• To monitor driver performance and report any deficiencies to management.
• To monitor daily logs and hours of work of drivers to ensure compliance

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Strong computer skills
• Strong administration skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong customer service skills
• Good work attitude and willing to learn
• Transportation / logistics industry experience would be an asset
• Ability to handle a fast-paced workload
• Must be eligible to legally work in Canada
